How We Help: Justice Forward Services
Supporting clients and graduates in 23 Treatment Courts in the Greater Houston region with essential services and programs
Our Services
Transitional and Emergency Housing
Stable housing is the foundation for lasting recovery. Many Treatment Court participants are unhoused when arrested, with nowhere safe to return. Justice Forward helps fund supportive, home-like housing that offers structure, community, and a real chance to rebuild. This critical service helps individuals maintain sobriety and successfully reintegrate into society.
Specialty Counseling
Because many treatment court participants experience early childhood trauma and loss, Justice Forward funds trauma-informed therapy and grief counseling, to equip our clients with coping mechanisms to deal with their intense feelings, paving the way to health and healing.
Transportation Assistance
Reliable transportation is essential for individuals to stay on track with counseling, classes, employment, and court requirements. Many participants don't own a vehicle and rely on public transit to meet these obligations. Justice Forward helps remove this barrier by providing funds for bus passes, other transportation options, and gas cards for those with access to a car.
We’re Here to Help
We are dedicated to providing help to Treatment Court clients and graduates in need.
Incentives & Gift Cards
Positive reinforcement is a proven part of successful recovery. Justice Forward provides gift cards that Treatment Courts use to reward progress, celebrate milestones, and encourage lasting behavioral change. These small incentives help build momentum and remind participants that every step forward matters.
Tuition Assistance
Education can change the course of a life, offering a path to stability, purpose, and lasting success. Justice Forward helps participants pursue the education they need to build a better future.
Workforce Training
Justice Forward provides access to job training and career pathways that meet people where they are, opening doors to meaningful work and a brighter future.
Clear Path Forward Program
Thanks to generous support from the Texas Bar Foundation, Justice Forward now helps graduates of adult Treatment Courts in Harris, Galveston, and Fort Bend counties apply for Petitions for Non-Disclosure and Expunctions to remove eligible felony and misdemeanor cases from their criminal histories. Eligibility depends on the type of case and its disposition and will be determined by the attorney hired to assist you. If you’re interested in being screened for this opportunity, fill out the application.
Party Sober Partnership
Justice Forward has partnered with a group of twelve local nonprofits seeking to create a safe and fun community for our clients and graduates by hosting free social events. We hope these events will promote long-term sobriety and reduce social isolation and hopelessness. This group schedules events during holidays or big events typically associated with drinking.
