CARD Drug Court
The Closing Addiction’s Revolving Door (CARD) Drug Court Program has been serving felony offenders with a substance use disorder in Fort Bend County for over 20 years. CARD is a12-18 month, 3 phase program that includes judicial oversight, intensive supervision, individualized substance dependency treatment and wrap around services. The goal of the program is to provide participants with an opportunity to learn skills to control their illness reach their full potential and become productive members of the community.
Program Needs
- Transitional and emergency housing to ensure program participants have a safe and stable place to stay that is supportive of mental health, sobriety and living a crime-free life.
- Valuable “incentives” or rewards for program participants who are making significant steps, big and small, towards their goals to improve their overall mental health, sobriety, well-being and success in the program.
- Access to targeted therapies to help heal and empower those affected by grief and trauma.
- Public transportation and ride-share program assistance to help participants overcome some of the basic barriers to access to care and court requirements.
- Alcohol monitoring devices to effectively monitor participants who are required to abstain from alcohol, limiting risks to the community and supporting successful program outcomes.
